ITINERARY

April 13

Barcelona

Arrive in Barcelona and transfer to the 5-star NH Collection Barcelona Gran Hotel Calderón or similar accommodations. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

April 14

Montserrat, located in Spain’s Catalan region

After breakfast, your journey begins with a scenic drive through the picturesque Catalan region of Spain, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. Once you arrive, you will be granted entrance to Santa Maria de Montserrat, a stunning Benedictine monastery that has stood for centuries. Here, you can explore the grounds and marvel at the architectural wonder of the abbey, which has been home to monks for over a thousand years. And don’t forget to visit the star attraction of Montserrat – Our Lady of Montserrat, a statue of the Virgin Mary, admired for centuries by both locals and tourists alike. After a full day of sightseeing, return to the NH Collection Barcelona Gran Hotel Calderón, where you can enjoy an evening on your own.

April 15

Barcelona

This morning, set out on a half day tour of Barcelona featuring a UNESCO-protected treasure of Hospital de la Santa Creu I Sant Pau, a medieval charitable home turned hospital and the world’s largest art nouveau site. Then, continue to Gaudi’s masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia where you will enjoy an outside visit.

April 16

Barcelona

After breakfast, set out on a half-day tour showcasing the magnificent sights of Barcelona. Travel down the Passeig de Grácia to view some of Spain’s most famous architectural creations: Gaudi’s whimsical Casa Milà, Casa Batlló and other magnificent buildings. Then, continue to the 1908 Palau de la Música Catalana, Montaner’s dazzling concert hall and another UNESCO treasure. Take in the stunning features of this must-see modernist gem, from its stone sculptures and floral decorative mosaics to its massive stained-glass skylight. View the inspiring Barcelona Cathedral on a brief walking tour through the Gothic Quarter, the oldest part of the city. Transfer to Allura in the afternoon.

Travelers should be confident in their ability to walk and stand for a minimum of 5 hours with a total of 2-4 miles per day while keeping a steady pace with a group or tour guide. This tour can involve walking on uneven ground for extended periods and occasionally stairs, some without handrails. Travelers should be able to board a coach or tour bus independently. This tour is not recommended for those with a walker or wheelchair. Local customs require covering knees and shoulders when visiting religious sites.
